The Daily's Copy Desk is hiring new copy editors! This is a paid, part-time opportunity open to all UW students.
About the job: As a copy editor, you will work for the Copy Desk at The Daily and read and edit stories for AP Style, grammar, consistency, and factual accuracy. The detail-oriented role of a copy editor protects The Daily's credibility and improves quality across the board.
More information:
- Familiarity with AP Style is desired, but not required.
- Prospective copy editors must demonstrate strong writing and reading comprehension skills.
- During the school year, copy editors typically work two, two-hour shifts per week and are paid $20 per shift and an additional $1 per article edited. Over the summer, copy editors will work on a reduced schedule, either in-person or remotely.
