 ISS online degree completion - autumn apps still open for returning/continuing UW students

ISS welcomes applications from students who have at least 75 credits and a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA. Our major offers students the opportunity to explore social issues from a variety of disciplinary perspectives, from communication to geography to sociology and beyond. Since 2014, ISS has graduated over 500 Huskies! If you are curious to learn more about ISS, check out this great article from Perspectives Newsletter about our 500th graduate. Program overview:

  • 100% online, asynchronous courses
  • Courses taught by UW faculty from across the social sciences
  • Part-time, full-time, and quarter-off options
  • 70% of ISS students work full-time, 30% have dependent care responsibilities

  • Open to current UW students, returning UW students, and new transfer students*
  • ISS students are eligible for all forms of financial aid except those that are funded by tuition (such as the Husky Promise & tuition exemptions).

(*The new transfer student application for Fall 2023 is closed. The next opportunity to apply to ISS as a new transfer student will be for Spring 2024.)
