Dear Political Science Students, In a rapidly changing world, what ethical responsibilities do individuals, organizations, and governments hold in shaping sustainable development practices, and how can we ensure these ethics drive positive global change rather than exacerbate existing challenges? This Global Goals Week (Sept 15-24), join The GREEN Program for three exciting online events!  

  • TGP & Reykjavik University Iceland School of Energy Virtual Tour & Ask an Alum (9/15) Discover where innovation, renewable energy, and academics come to life at Reykjavik University's Iceland School of Energy! Join TGP and ISE on Instagram Live for a campus tour. We'll get the inside scoop on the unique MSc Sustainable Energy program and speak with TGP alumni who are studying in Iceland now! Learn about ISE's programs and opportunities, a day in the life of an MSc student in Iceland, and why Iceland is an ideal destination to get hands on experience in renewable energy.

  •   Exploring the Ethics of Sustainable Development (9/18)
A thought-provoking online panel discussion on the ethics of sustainable development featuring esteemed members of The GREEN Program's global faculty. This engaging event will delve into the intricate relationship between ethics and sustainable development, highlighting real-world examples that are shaping our world today.
Panelists:
  • Dr. Sagar Sharma (TGP Nepal Programs): Expert in development economics, climate migration, foreign aid, and development.
  • Professor Oscar Ortega (TGP Peru Program): Professor of sustainable development, biodiversity conservation, Indigenous knowledge, climate change, and international politics.
  • Christian (Chris) Windsor (TGP Belize Program): Environmental consultant and entrepreneur with expertise in environmental planning and design, impact assessments, social assessments, data management, and analysis.

  • Beyond Business As Usual: Insights into Corporate & Government Sustainability (9/20)  
Join us as we speak with TGP alumni, Maxine Dixon from the Philadelphia Energy Authority, Nathaniel Foote from Microsoft, and Amy Amaon from Blue Cross Blue Shield, to uncover topics such as how sustainability is implemented at their workplace, the climate crisis, utilizing experiences like TGP to benefit your work, and sharing advice for future sustainability leaders. Attendees will gain insights into an ever-growing field, network with other TGP alumni, and get a chance to ask experts how you might join the sustainability workforce!
