Non-Profit & Government Mentorship Program - Spring 2024

Apply by February 9th at 11:59 PM

Interested in pursuing a career that’s dedicated to serving the public and prioritizing their best interests? Are you passionate about supporting and advocating for underrepresented communities and equitable access to resources? People who pursue careers in government and/or non-profit develop skills in writing, public speaking, coalition building, interpersonal and intercultural communication, conflict resolution, outreach, systems-thinking, analysis, and problem solving. Join the Non-profit & Government Mentorship program to learn how your interests, skills, and strengths can translate to a career in either field, and explore professional development topics to prepare you for your job & internship search.

Students will indicate areas of interest within the government or non-profit sectors during the application process:

  • Administration / Management / Operations
  • Planning & Development / Strategists / Policy Analyst
  • Human Resources / Recruiting / Volunteer Coordination
  • Marketing / Communications / Community Engagement

The Industry Mentorship Program will be offering identity-based matching for students who identify as People of Color and/or LGBTQIA+. Depending on preferences and mentor availability, students will have the opportunity to be matched with a mentor that shares their identity(s) or similar life experiences. As we continue to develop this identity mentorship initiative, we hope to expand our programming to include additional identity groups in future quarters.

Program Details

Participants will meet virtually with a mentor and small group 3-6 likeminded students. Must be available during the Spring 2024 quarter on Tuesdays or Wednesdays from 4:00-7:00 pm to participate.
