CALL FOR APPLICATIONS: 2024-25 Center for American Politics and Public Policy Fellowship Program. Review of applications begins mid-April.

Application Form and Instructions: https://depts.washington.edu/cappp/index.php/undergraduate-fellows/application

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, although the program typically fills before the end of Spring quarter

The Center for American Politics & Public Policy (CAPPP) Undergraduate Fellowship Program is a selective, year-long program where a small cohort of political science majors and minors (8-10) learn quantitative research methods. CAPPP Fellows apply these skills to design and carry out an independent research project throughout the academic year, while working in close consultation with a faculty director, graduate teaching assistant and other students in the CAPPP Fellowship cohort.

Successful applicants must have an interest in pursuing intensive independent research and learning to use quantitative research methods. (Background in data analysis/ quantitative methods is helpful but not required.)

Former CAPPP Fellows have gone on to Ph.D. programs at Yale, Berkeley, Cornell, Harvard, Columbia, MIT, Princeton and UW (among others) and to top law schools. Fellows have also launched careers in data journalism at The New York Times, data science at Google and Microsoft, and in public policy institutions and NGOs.

Please direct questions and applications to Professor Becca Thorpe (bthorpe@uw.edu).
