UW Bothell is offering a special election course offered this Autumn 24 quarter with Drs Camille Walsh and Min Tang in the School of Interdisciplinary Arts & Sciences, The 2024 Election: US Media and Politics. It is three-credits, high-percentage hybrid (meets twice at UW Bothell campus with one optional mid quarter check in), and there is still space for students to sign up.

BIS   293  SPECIAL TOPICS: THE 2024 ELECTION: US MEDIA AND POLITICS

This hybrid class is an introduction to the political economy of the U.S. media and political system and their relationship to each other. Taking the upcoming 2024 U.S. presidential election as a site for intellectual engagement and discussion, the course will examine the current and historical roles of news media, political advertising, voting rights, election law, lobbying and public relations in U.S. presidential elections and acquaint students with a critical understanding of how the “money and media election complex” operates in politics, constitutional law and history.

MEETS ON CAMPUS: 9/25, 11/13 (optional), 12/4
