Angry about where your campus, city, and world are headed? Want to fight back but don’t know where to begin? Want to join the labor movement during school or after graduation? Like fair wages, respect, democracy, and banh mi? Join organizers from two progressive, fighting labor unions to learn how you can join the fight for a just and democratic society through labor organizing. UNITE HERE Local 8 and UFCW 3000, in partnership with the UW Harry Bridges Center for Labor Studies, will offer a training and information session for students and community members on April 10th from 4:30-7pm in LOW 206. Find your place in the labor movement, gain skills, enjoy a meal, and build community to defeat the fear, uncertainty, and division that bosses, administrators, and politicians rely upon. Food provided after the event at HUB Den Food Court. For more information please email Sai Ahmed, UW Bridges Center staff, at ypahmed@uw.edu.
