Submitted by Andy Yun on

Are you tutoring, mentoring, coaching, or working with k-12 campers this summer? Earn Community-Engaged credit and reflect on education equity in EDUC 401 C!

The Community Engagement and Leadership Education (CELE) Center offers courses for UW students to earn academic credit while tutoring K-12 students!

  • Field work / Community-engagement credits

  • Graded CR/NC

  • Open to all majors and any class standing (undergraduate and graduate!)

To get started, view on MyPlan:

EDUC 401: Practicum in Community Service Activity (1-6 credits)

Modality: Hybrid (We will schedule three synchronous reflection discussions around your schedule for this summer session, the rest of your work will be asynchronous!)

Credit variable: (1-6) (Credit load is also contingent upon the number of field hours students work each week)

This course has no prerequisite.

EDUC 401 C is a community-engaged course designed to support reflection for UW students already engaged in childcare or education work. Credits are earned through discussion post assignments, three synchronous reflection discussions across the summer quarter, and the completion of field work hours.
