BeREAL- Resilient Attitudes and Living (1 credit, CR/NC)

Submitted by Stephen Dunne on
GEN ST 297 X & Y: BeREAL: Resilient Attitudes and Living (1 credit, CR/NC) equips students with:
  • cognitive skills to manage stressful emotions and situations,
  • mindfulness skills to strengthen self-awareness, and
  • practices that promote compassion for themselves and others.
The course will meet once a week for 50 mins. Weekly reflection assignments are flexible and low stakes, allowing students to engage in a way that invites them to center their learning and well-being needs.
Past students have said:
"I've taken a couple of other classes with similar material, and I haven't been as engaged as I was in this one. Just being aware of my mental state and health helped me regulate a lot more outside of class, which translated to better productivity in my schoolwork, regular work, and everything else I have going on."
