Washington Youth Alliance is hosting their annual Youth Day of Action on Wednesday, February 4th and is looking for chaperones! This event brings youth from across the state to learn about and engage during the legislative session. WYA consistently advocates for mental health funding, education, and gun violence prevention, but we have an exciting proposal this year! By attending, you will be able to help us pass excused absences for all high schoolers to be able to participate in civic events throughout the school year (like lobby day)! Participants will be provided with transportation and carpooling options, food/snacks, and service hours. As a chaperone you will help supervise youth as they meet with legislators, attend committee meetings, and advocate for legislation. You will also gain valuable skills in leadership, advocacy, and community organizing! Sign up here!
