UK Scholarships: 2027-28 graduate-level studies/research through the Churchill, Gates Cambridge, Marshall, Rhodes Scholarships and Chevening Scholarships
Explore and apply for UW nomination for scholarships that can support your graduate study and/or research at a university in the UK starting in fall 2027:
>> Gates Cambridge Scholarships
Supports 1-4 years of graduate study at Cambridge University. Open to citizens of any country outside the UK considering almost any graduate-level program at Cambridge. No UW nomination required. Read about recently selected UW grad student Rijul Jain (2026 Gates Cambridge Scholar), and recent alumni Tristan Jafari (2025 Gates Cambridge Scholar) and Sonia Fereidooni (2024 Gates Cambridge Scholar).
>> Rhodes Scholarships
Provides funding for 2-3 years at Oxford University. Open to citizens of many countries around the world, and eligibility requirements and nomination processes vary by country. US applicant eligibility requirements include a 3.7 GPA or higher and 18-23 years old by 10/1/26, or up to 27 years by 10/1/26 old if you will complete your first degree after 10/1/25. >> Marshall Scholarships
Provide 1-2 years of funding to study at any university in England, Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland. Eligibility requirements include US citizenship, 3.7 GPA or higher, and earn a first bachelor's degree anytime between April 2024-August 2027. UW nomination required.
* Special Event: Marshall Scholarship Summit for applicants hosted by the Marshall Scholarship Commission: April 15, 9am-12pm PT. Register to attend.
>> Churchill Scholarships
Support one year of graduate study in mathematics, science and engineering fields, or science policy at Cambridge University. Eligibility requirements include US citizenship and graduation anytime between fall 2025 and summer 2027. UW nomination required. Read about UW alum Abby Burtner (2024 Churchill Scholar).
>> Chevening Scholarships
UW international students and alumni may be interested in this opportunity, which provides one year of full funding for a master’s degree at any UK university. Open to citizens of many countries around the world (not open to US citizens). Eligibility requirements include significant work experience after graduating from undergrad. No UW nomination required.

Tune in for Marshall Monday sessions. These sessions provide opportunities to hear from different UK university representatives each week, and will cover a variety of topics which can include an overview of the university, the application process steps, insight into studying in the UK, a lecture from an academic or a Q&A with current students. Sessions are recorded and available from the website. Hosted by the Marshall Scholarship Commission.
