Biography
Jasmin Weaver, through her work in the community and in policy campaigns, has a long career working to reduce economic inequality at the local, state, and national level. She is Chief of Staff for King County Executive Girmay Zahilay and is past Executive Vice President of Civic Ventures. Weaver also served as Deputy Director of Seattle’s Office of Intergovernmental Relations and was a legislative director for a national union organizing campaign. Weaver graduated from the University of Washington in 2002 with three majors: Political Science, Philosophy, and Community and Environmental Planning. While at UW she was ASUW President, a CAS Dean’s Medalist, and Mary Gates Leadership Scholar. After graduating from the UW she was a George Mitchell Scholar earning a MA at the University College Dublin and later went on to earn a MA in Public Policy from Harvard University’s Kennedy School.
