Geoffrey P.R. Wallace (Ph.D., Cornell University, 2010) is a professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of Washington. Prior to UW, he taught at Rutgers University and the University of Kentucky, and was a visiting fellow in the Niehaus Center for Globalization and Governance at Princeton University (2013-2014). He works primarily in the areas of international security and international law with a focus on the conduct of actors during armed conflict. He also has interests in the design and effectiveness of international institutions as well as public opinion and foreign policy.

He is the author of the books Life and Death in Captivity: The Abuse of Prisoners during War (2015 with Cornell University Press) and International Law and the Public: How Ordinary People Shape the Global Legal Order (2024 with Cornell University Press). His work has appeared in the American Journal of Political Science, International Organization, International Studies Quarterly, the Journal of Conflict Resolution, and the Journal of Peace Research, among others. His research has been funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF), the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC), as well as several grants from the Time-sharing Experiments for the Social Sciences (TESS) initiative. He is currently working on a book project examining violence against members of the media. He teaches courses on international law, international organizations, political violence, international conflict, and qualitative and mixed methods.
