Global Perspectives on Authoritarianism & Fascism

What is authoritarianism? What is fascism? Are there warning signs that signal the rise of authoritarianism and/or fascism? How do democracies turn into dictatorships? What forms of resistance to fascism and/or authoritarianism have historically been effective?

This panel will take a global look at these questions and others. It features experts on international law and on political systems in many parts of the globe - China, the Middle East, Japan, Nazi Germany, Spain, and the USSR. Following brief statements, the panelists will field questions. Open to the public.
