Autumn 2024: Pol S Course Information, Courses for the Options, A&H/NSc Courses

Registration for Autumn 2024 will begin on Friday, May 3rd.  Most Pol S courses are restricted to majors. Courses with room may open to non-majors beginning May 20th. To enroll in popular courses, be sure to take advantage of your registration priority over the next few weeks. 
Course Descriptions: Most classes have course descriptions that you can view on the department's website at https://www.polisci.washington.edu/courses/2024/autumn/all or in MyPlan (courses with a description will have a "View Syllabus" link). 
Courses for the Options: If you are completing the International Security or Political Economy Option, lists of autumn courses are posted at  https://www.polisci.washington.edu/international-security-and-political-economy-option-courses (summer courses for the options are posted there, too). 
A&H and NSc: If you need to complete Areas of Inquiry requirements, Tamara has posted lists of A&H courses at  https://www.polisci.washington.edu/arts-humanities-courses and NSc courses at  https://www.polisci.washington.edu/natural-science-courses
There are a number of pending changes to Political Science courses that may affect your registration plans:
  • POL S 220,  HOW TO STEAL ELCTION - Closed to enrollment pending time change to TTH 1130-1250. 
  • POL S 334, AMERICAN POL TOPICS: Social Movements - Closed to enrollment pending time change to MW 1030-1220
  • POL S 368/LSJ 320, INTL HUMAN RIGHTS - Closed to enrollment and may be withdrawn. If withdrawn, this course will be offered in Winter 2025. 
  • POL S 403A, INTL REL ADV SEM: Public Diplomacy and the Global Influence of Germany and Europe - Closed to enrollment. May be withdrawn. 
  • POL S 462, US SUPREME COURT: Withdrawn. May be offered in a future quarter. 
  • POL S 488, H-HNRS THESIS DESIGN: Pending time change to TTh 1130-120.
