The U.S. Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP), Labor Policy Office for Ranking Member Senator Patty Murray (D-WA), seeks two unpaid interns for the fall of 2015.  The positions offer undergraduate students the opportunity to gain substantive experience while participating in the legislative process.  Interns’ responsibilities include, but are not limited to: assisting Committee staff in performing office duties, conducting research, analyzing legislation, drafting memorandums, and organizing hearings.  Interns play a key role in the office and will work closely with senior policy advisors.

The primary objective of this course is to establish an interactive classroom community to engage recent scientific research papers and science reporting that have important consequences for contemporary social issues, including global health, the nature of aggression and warfare, genetic engineering, climate change and the neurology of writing, learning and creativity.

The Student Calling Program employees between 70 and 80 student callers, and 8 student managers. On a nightly basis (Saturday-Thursday) callers engage in quality conversations with alumni and work to acquire gifts to the university. This is a great job for students looking to increase many skills including but not limited to: verbal communication, sales experience, working as a team. However, we employ students from all different majors and interests across campus. Additionally, students have the opportunity to network with professional advancement staff, but they also get to enjoy flexible schedules and a fun, laid-back environment.
